The mind has a false purpose for living, which is to be non-disturbed. The only time in our lives when we were non-disturbed was in the womb, until the first decision was made about our lives.

The speaker discusses how the mind's desire for comfort can cause us to lose sight of what we actually want in life, which is joy and happiness. They explain how the mind's safety mechanism is to seek out comfort, even if it means resisting growth. However, the path always leads back to spirit, so we can trust and have faith in the process. The speaker encourages us to live in the present moment and to stop worrying so much about the future.

In the conversation, it is mentioned that people keep a distance from others because they are afraid to be alone or to be rejected. It is also mentioned that this principle applies to all areas, not just the big ones. The conversation also mentions that while the speaker makes every effort to broadcast correct information, they are still learning and that medicine is a constantly changing science and art. It is also mentioned that one doctor may have a different way of doing things from another. The disclaimer at the end mentions that the speaker and any guests or contributors to the podcast are not responsible for damages arising from use of the podcast.

The Fear of Being Rejected or Being Hurt

Highlights

People keep a distance because they need to be comfortable and they causes a conflict because now they're not opening up and feeling close due to the fear of being rejected or being hurt.

That is a false purpose for living. So remember that and start living in the now where spirit can guide us. And why don't we all just try to stop worrying so much?.

And this comfort zone becomes threatened when we step outside of our comfort zone, which is, ironically, when we grow. So, because the mind has a false purpose for living, it can kind of hold us back or hold our spirits back from expressing themselves, because new things make us uncomfortable.
